Pergola World Clear Stain, Exterior Wood Finish

A semi-transparent wiping, oil stain and sealer designed to penetrate and beautify exterior wood surfaces and provide them with superior protection against the harsh seasonal elements. Pergola World Wood Finish colors enrich the natural beauty of wood surfaces by allowing the grain, texture and color variation within the wood to show through. When properly applied, is water repellant, mildew resistant and won’t peel, blister or crack. Built in UV blockers provide extra protection against deterioration on wood surfaces. Tested by experts.

Recommended Uses

Ideal for use on exterior fences, gazebos, rough or smooth wood siding, structural beams and posts, wood ceilings and plywood. Primarily for use on new wood surfaces only, but may be used over properly prepared gray and weathered wood surfaces according to manufacturer’s instructions. Not recommended for wood deck surfaces or horizontal decking.

Application

Stir container thoroughly before using and occasionally while applying to keep uniform consistency and color. Apply evenly by brush, roller or spray. For airless application, use a 0.011-0.013″ tip@ 2000 psi. If spraying, always back brush or back roll immediately to ensure proper penetration. Do not apply in direct sunlight or on hot surfaces. Apply stain to small sections at a time. Avoid lap marks by maintaining a wet edge at all times. Apply in full, even coats, overlapping each pass 50%. Stain a board end to end. Stain up and down vertical siding and across horizontal siding.

Coverage

Smooth wood surfaces will range 175-225 square feet per gallon. Rough wood surfaces will range 125-175 square feet per gallon depending on porosity and texture. Actual coverage will vary due to surface porosity, texture, and condition of wood. NOTE: New wood normally wears, requires less product than old weathered wood. This is due to older wood being more porous than newer wood. One coat application on both horizontal and vertical surfaces is all that is recommended. Do not apply a second coat. Cleanup: Clean spills, spatters, hands, tools and other equipment. Dispose of used paint and waste, in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. Follow manufacturer’s safety recommendations when using mineral spirits.

Application Precautions & Limitations

FOR EXTERIOR USE ONLY. DO NOT SHAKE. SHAKING PRODUCT MAY CREATE AIR BUBBLES IN THE FINISH COAT. Not recommended for use with decks. Do not apply over previously painted or sealed surfaces, metal, masonry or adjacent to fresh stucco. Apply when surface, air and product are above 40°F (4°C) and at least 5°F (3°C) above the dew point. Do not apply in direct sunlight or on hot surfaces. Do not apply when relative humidity is above 85%. Do not apply when temperature may fall below 50°F for 48 hours after application. Do not apply this product over wet or damp surfaces or when rain is imminent.

CAUTION: When applying two coats of Pergola World Exterior Wood Finish on a vertical surface, the second coat may remain tacky because of its lack of ability to penetrate the wood substrate because of the first coat. DO NOT APPLY A SECOND COAT.

***DANGER! Soiled wiping rags, papers, wipers, steel wool, waste, etc. soaked in Pergola World Wood Finish may spontaneously combust if improperly discarded. After each use, immediately dispose of by placing in a sealed, water-filled, fire-proof, metal container and stored outdoors. DANGER!***
